Kayci Fadler

Kayci was my final project subject and one of my all-time favorite people to work with. Almost 14 years ago Kayci Fadler contracted a serious bacteria called Meningococcemia which invaded her tiny three-year-old body. Fifty plus surgeries later and the loss of her right arm and leg, Kayci prepares for Prom, a milestone in any teen's life, but one especially significant for her and her family after her less than hopeful prognosis as a toddler. It was pretty awesome to share this experience with her and her family.

Getting Ready...

Meet Abby Grace, an 8 year old competitive cheerleader from Columbia, MO. She's outgoing, very mature for her age and a real leader on the mini squad. She also competes on a squad with older girls, senior 2. Here are some pictures of her getting ready to compete at the jamfest cheer competition in Kansas City. The first two pictures are quite similar, I just love the moment in the first one and her brother Jackson's expression in the second. Jackson, like any other little boy, was very confused and intrigued by the make-up. More pictures from the rest of the day and my project coming soon.

Renovation of my blog

So I haven't used this blog since advanced techniques, but I'm starting it up again for picture story. Please leave comments and critiques and I'm going to try to update as much as possible. I'll start it off with a picture I recently took of my puppy Harley.

Painting with Light

What a fun last assignment!! I think I can do a lot more things with this technique though and will definitely keep practicing. Anyhoo, there were some difficulties we encountered, such as being surrounded by a gang of raccoons but overall it was a great couple of nights. These pictures were taken with an ISO 100, F4, and the shutter speed on bulb. For both of these pictures I used flash and a flashlight. Oh and by the way can anyone tell me how to make my photos bigger on this page? It's already on the large setting. Thanks!
